Homework is assigned every Monday through Thursday
The assignments will be written in the student’s agenda notebooks and all necessary materials will be placed in the homework folder. — Each morning the assignments will be collected and recorded on the classroom homework chart. — Students who have not completed their homework will be required to determine a time when they will complete the assignment. — If there is an unusual circumstance that prevents the completion of the assignments, please send a note. — Fourth graders are expected to spend 40-60 minutes per night on their assignments. — If night after night your child is spending an unreasonable amount of time on their assignments and you are confident that he/she has been working consistently, then please notify me so that modifications can be made. — Parents should be available to check over the assignments for neatness, completeness, and accuracy. Please circle any areas that proved difficult and they will be reviewed with your child. — Please allow your child to do their work independently but offer guidance when necessary. — Homework will be meaningful and varied. Homework is meant to reinforce the concepts taught in class as well as to develop skills and confidence.
Volunteering: In addition to completing a CORI form, volunteers are now required to be fingerprinted. More information will be sent home which will include the fee associated with it and the locations where you can have your fingerprinting done.
